Both deliver the same clean look and light control. If you're fitting a dry living area, bedroom or study, we recommend timber, where its warmth and insulation perform best. If you're fitting a bathroom, laundry or other high-moisture space, we recommend PVC instead.

Do you install timber shutters in Sydney?
No, we manufacture and supply only, we won't be the ones fitting your shutters. What we will do is deliver them to you flat-packed or fully assembled, and if you'd rather not do it yourself, we can recommend a local installer for your project, at an additional cost.
Can you make custom shapes?
Yes. If your window is arched, bayed, or set up for a bi-fold opening, tell us the details when you request your quote and we'll work out the right configuration for your specific window.
What's the maximum panel width?
We can build a single Basswood panel up to 950mm wide. If your opening is wider than that, we'll use T-posts to divide it into multiple panels, so you still get a clean, supported fit.
How long does manufacturing and delivery take?
It depends on how complex your order is, we'll confirm your turnaround once we've reviewed your quote. If you're in Sydney and want it sooner, you're welcome to collect from us and skip delivery time altogether.
What louvre sizes do you offer?
You can choose 63mm, 76mm or 89mm. If you go with 89mm, just make sure your window recess has at least 55mm of depth, we'll check this with you at quote stage.
Can I order just parts?
Yes. If you've already got shutters and need a replacement part rather than a whole new panel, you can order individual components through our Parts, Hardware & Accessories range.
Are timber shutters suitable for Sydney's climate?
For your dry interior rooms, yes, Basswood handles Sydney's climate well. If you're fitting a bathroom or laundry, we'd steer you toward PVC instead, timber isn't the right call for high-moisture spaces.
